SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -Defenseman Rob Davison re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Monday, agreeing to a one-year contract worth $525,000.
Davison was a restricted free agent after playing in 22 games for San Jose last season. The hard-hitting defenseman has 14 points in 161 games over four seasons with the Sharks, who drafted him in 1998.
Unless San Jose moves to acquire another veteran defenseman, Davison will be in competition with Doug Murray during training camp to claim the regular job vacated by Scott Hannan, who signed with Colorado as a free agent.
