STANFORD, Calif. (AP) Stanford running back Bryce Love will miss the 14th-ranked Cardinal’s game against Utah with an injured ankle.
Coach David Shaw announced before the game Saturday night that last year’s Heisman Trophy runner-up will not be available after hurting his ankle last week at Notre Dame.
Love has struggled to get going this season and is averaging just 4.3 yards per carry, down from a mark of 8.1 yards a year ago. He already has missed one game against UC Davis to heal up some bumps and bruises.
Love has only one 100-yard game so far this season against Southern California after topping that mark in 12 of 13 games a year ago.
