STORRS, Conn. (AP) -Connecticut wide receiver Brandon McLean has been suspended for the first three games of the season for what coach Randy Edsall said Monday was conduct unbecoming of a UConn football player.
Team officials would not comment further on the incident. The Huskies’ first three games are at Duke, then home against Maine and Temple.
Edsall said McLean also will be barred from all team activities through at least May 29 pending further information gathering.
The 6-foot-1 McLean will be a senior in the fall. He’s played in 30 games, starting in 13.
