DENVER (AP) -With punter Todd Sauerbrun signed to a $1.4 million contract, the Denver Broncos on Monday waived Eddie Johnson.
Johnson, a second-year player from Idaho State, had been signed to a future contract in January.
Sauerbrun signed with the Broncos on April 20 after playing for the New England Patriots in the playoffs last season. Sauerbrun was cut in October by Denver after losing his job to Paul Ernster while serving a suspension for using ephedra in a misguided attempt to lose weight.
