The 2008 Belmont Stakes is today in Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, as Big Brown will go for horseracing’s Triple Crown. Big Brown’s biggest threat, Casino Drive, has been scratched from the race with a bruised hoof.
With wins at both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, all Big Brown needs is a win at the Belmont Stakes to capture the Triple Crown. But that will be easier said than done considering it’s been 30 years since the last time a horse won the Triple Crown.
