LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Following their victory in the 2014 Grey Cup, the Calgary Stampeders are favored to win next year’s championship as well.
The Stampeders won the West Division in 2014 with a 15-3 record while racking up 511 points for and surrendering just 347 points defensively. They racked up the most points in the league at 30 on their way to a 20-16 victory of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Grey Cup.
Following their impressive 2014 campaign, the Stampeders have opened as 3/1 favorites to win the 2015 Grey Cup according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv. The Eskimos, who finished with the next highest point total at 24, are 5/1 to win the Grey Cup next season while the Roughriders are 11/2.
Continuing with the odds, the B.C. Loons are 6/1 to win next year’s Grey Cup while the Tiger-Cats are 13/2. The Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts are both 8/1, respectively, to win next year’s Cup, while the Winnipeg Blue Bomers are 10/1 long shots. The team with the worst odds to win next year’s Grey Cup is the Ottawa RedBlacks, who are 20/1 to win the championship.
