Quarterback Andrew Luck is expected to miss at least a month with a lacerated kidney, which has caused the Colts’ Super Bowl odds to drop.
Following the Colts’ upset win over the Broncos, Indianapolis’ Super Bowl odds were listed at 25/1. But following the announcement of Luck’s injury, those odds dropped to 30/1 according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag.
The original report was that Luck is expected to miss the next 2-6 weeks as he heels, but ESPN’s Ed Werder reported Wednesday morning that the Colts expect the quarterback to miss “at least a month.”
Luck has a partial tear of an abdominal muscle after suffering the injury on a fourth quarter scramble in Sunday’s win over Denver. He was sent for further testing on Monday where it was releveled that he would need a few weeks to heal.
Matt Hasselbeck will get the nod with Luck sidelined. The Colts remain in playoff contention thanks in large part to a weak AFC South. Indy remains the favorite to win the division title.
