PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – If Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in Eagles’ quarterback Nick Foles, it’ll cost them a high draft pick.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the Eagles would want a first or second-round pick to “even consider” trading Nick Foles. The AP cites a “NFL source,” which might be someone within Philadelphia’s organization. The Chiefs are in desperate need of a quarterback and considering the position is weak in this year’s draft class, Reid might be interested in acquiring his former signal caller from Philly.
Foles finished with a 79.1 QB rating and threw for 1,699 yards with six touchdowns last year in seven games last season while filling in for the injured Michael Vick. Foles was originally a third-round pick in 2012 out of Arizona.
Foles’ trade value clearly isn’t a first or second-rounder, especially with Chip Kelly taking over as head coach in Philadelphia. The Eagles have already decided to keep Michael Vick and have signed Kelly’s former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon, two mobile quarterbacks to run his up-tempo spread offense. Foles wouldn’t appear to be a fit.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Eagles are 35/1 long shots to win the 2014 Super Bowl. They have the same odds as the Bengals and Chargers.
