According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Redbirds are a 5-point favorite over the Sycamores for tonight’s conference tournament game. Illinois State had opened as a 6-point favorite but the line was bet down a full point.
The line movement indicates that oddsmakers may have inflated the line too much in favor of the Redbirds but Illinois State looks like a great value at either -5 or -6. The Redbirds are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and have covered the number in seven of their last 10 matchups against a team with a losing record.
As for the Sycamores, they’re just 1-8-1 against the spread in their last 10 conference games and are winless at 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games coming off a win. They’ve struggled to cover playing on neutral site courts as well, going just 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games on neutral ground.
