(The Spread) – After claiming the checkered flag in the STP Gas Booster 500 on Sunday, Jimmie Johnson’s odds to win the 2013 Sprint Cup Championship have improved.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Johnson’s odds have improved from 3/1 to 11/4 in a matter of a week. He was 4/1 to win the Gas Booster 400 and moved back into the Sprint Cup lead with the victory. He is currently six points ahead of Brad Keselowski for first.
Speaking of Keselowski, his odds have gone from 6/1 to 13/2 following Sunday’s race. After finishing second at Ridgeway, Clint Bowyer’s odds improved slightly from 16/1 to 15/1 to win the 2013 Sprint Cup.
Matt Kenseth finished 14th on Sunday and has seen his odds go from 9/1 to 15/2. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s odds, meanwhile, have gone from 9/1 to 10/1, while Tony Stewart had perhaps the biggest drop going from 20/1 to 25/1. “T-Stew” finished 17th at Ridgeway on Sunday.
Couple other Sprint Cup odds to mention: Martin Truex Jr. is now 28/1 to 33/1 after finishing 40th in the STP Gas Booster 400, while Joey Logano’s odds have dropped from 60/1 down to 50/1. Jamie McMurray, meanwhile, has had his odds to win the 2013 Sprint Cup Championship drop from 100/1 to 75/1.
