According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Knicks’ odds have gone from 20/1 last week down to 12/1 this week to win this year’s NBA championship. And it’s not surprising that New York’s odds have shifted dramatically seeing as how the team has now won 13 straight games to get within 10 games of Miami in the Eastern Conference.
Speaking of the Heat, their odds changed to over the past week, although not as dramatically as the Knicks’. LeBron James and Co. remain favored to win the 2013 NBA Championship at 5/7, down slightly from 4/5 last week.
The odds for some of the other NBA powerhouses didn’t budge. The Thunder still have the next best odds to win this year’s title at 9/2, while the Spurs are still 7/1. Even though they’ve won four in a row and eight of their last 10, the Nuggets’ odds have actually climbed from 16/1 up to 18/1, while the Pacers’ odds have gone from 18/1 up to 22/1.
The same change happened for the Clippers, who were 18/1 a week ago and who are now 22/1 according to Bovada.lv oddsmakers. The Lakers, meanwhile, are 25/1 while the Grizzlies are 30/1 and the Bulls are 45/1. The Lakers were 28/1 a week ago so their odds have improved slightly, while the Grizzlies were 28/1 and the Bulls were 35/1.
