Line drops in Pitt vs. Clemson game despite public taking Tigers to cover

Even though there are more tickets on Clemson to cover tonight against Pittsburgh, the line has dropped a full point-and-a-half.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, Clemson is now a 1.5-point home favorite for its matchup with Pittsburgh tonight at 7:00PM ET. This movement comes after the Tigers opened as a 3-point favorite and despite 58% of wagers being on Clemson to cover.

There are a variety of reasons why sports books move a line, including when there’s an injury. But it doesn’t appear that an injury has impacted the spread tonight. Chances are one or multiple sports books received respected money on Pittsburgh and that’s why the line dropped. (Reverse line movement is often an indication that more money and/or sharp money is on the team that the public is fading.)

Clemson is 4-0 against the spread in its last four home games and is a perfect 7-0 ATS in its last seven games overall. On the other side, PITT is 4-1 against the number in its last five road games.
