CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – Two teams heading in opposite directions will meet tonight in Cincinnati when the Reds host the Braves at 7:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Braves are -127 money line favorites over the host Reds, who are +117 money line underdogs. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 7.5 runs.
Atlanta has turned it around after getting into a massive funk a few weeks ago. The Braves have now won two in a row and eight of their last 10, while the Reds have lost nine of their last 10 games and seven-straight. Atlanta remains six games back of first-place Washington in the NL East, while Cincinnati is now 10.5 back of Milwaukee in the NL Central.
Ervin Santana will start for the Braves tonight, sporting a 13-6 record and a 3.71 ERA. The Reds will counter with Mike Leake, who is 9-11 with a 3.65 ERA. Santana defeated the Reds on April 25 in Atlanta, allowing four runs in 6 2/3 innings.
The Braves are 5-0 in their last five games versus the Reds and 4-1 in their last five road games versus Cincinnati. They’re also 7-1 in their last eight games, 4-1 in their last five road games and 19-7 in their last 26 games versus the NL Central. On the other side, the Reds are just 1-10 in their last 11 games, 0-4 in their last four home games and 0-5 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter.
