LOS ANGELES, CA (The Spread) – With Clayton Kershaw on the mound tonight for the Dodgers, one would think that the under would be the play. At least, one would think.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dodgers are massive -205 money line home favorites versus the visiting Braves, who are +188 money line road underdogs. The total for this 10:10PM ET start time is currently sitting at 6 runs.
Kershaw takes the mound for the Dodgers sporting a 12-2 record and a miniscule 1.76ERA, while the Braves will counter with Julio Teheran, who is enjoying a solid season while sporting a 10-6 record and a 2.71 ERA. Kershaw has yet to record a decision versus Atlanta but has limited the Braves to a .189 batting average in four career starts.
The over is 4-0-1 in Kershaw’s last five starts against the Braves, 6-1 in the last seven games between these two teams and 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles. The over is also 5-1-1 in Kershaw’s last seven starts as a favorite of -201 or greater, 4-1 in his last five starts as a home favorite of -201 or greater, and 24-11-2 in the Dodgers’ last 37 games as a home favorite.
On the other side, the over is 4-1 in the Braves’ last five road games, 4-1-2 in their last seven games following a loss, and 3-1-1 in their last five road games versus a left-handed starter.
