ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) – Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals will face division rival Milwaukee tonight as the Brewers look to pick up their second win against St. Louis in as many nights.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are -148 money line favorites over the Brewers, who are +136 money line road underdogs. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 6.5 for tonight’s game, which might open up a door for bettors to strike.
The over is 5-0 in Wainwright’s last five starts versus the Brewers, 11-3 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams and 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings in St. Louis. While the under hit in last night’s 3-2 victory for Milwaukee, the over looks like a great bet for bettors given this matchup.
The over is also 5-0 in Wainwright’s last five starts after scoring two runs or less in their previous game, 4-1 in his last five starts versus a team with a winning record and 6-2 in his last eight starts following a quality start in his last appearance.
On the other side, the over is 4-1 in Mike Fiers’ last five starts as a road underdog, 5-2 in his last seven games with five days of rest and 5-2 in his last seven starts as an underdog.
