MLB Trends: Pirates 0-5 in last five games vs. Reds in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – The Pirates haven’t had much recent success in Cincinnati, which is where they’ll be tonight when they visit the Reds at 7:10PM ET.

The Pirates are just 2-9 in their last 11 games versus the Reds overall and are winless at 0-5 in their last five games in Cincinnati. The good news for Pittsburgh backers, however, is that A.J. Burnett is on the hill. The Bucs are 6-1 in his last seven road starts and 4-1 in his last five starts overall.

As for the Reds, they’re coming off a series win in St. Louis but are just 3-7 in their last 10 home games. They’re also 1-6 in their last seven games coming off a win and 1-4 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. They’ll counter with David Holmberg tonight.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Pirates are -139 money line favorites over the Reds, who are +129 money line underdogs. The total for tonight’s game currently sits at 7.5 runs.
