(The Spread) – Through the first week of the 2013 MLB season, the Washington Nationals remain favored to win this year’s World Series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Nationals are 7/1 favorites to win the 2013 World Series. Their odds have dropped from 13/2, which is where they were sitting a week ago. For whatever reason, their NL pennant odds have actually climbed slightly from 13/4 to 7/2.
The Tigers have the next best odds at 8/1, while the Braves and Dodgers are both 9/1 to win the 2013 World Series. The Angels are 10/1 despite their 2-7 start, while the Reds and Giants are both 12/1. The Rangers and Blue Jays, meanwhile, are 14/1 to win this year’s MLB title.
Continuing with the current odds, the A’s are 18/1, while the Yankees and Cardinals are both 20/1, respectively. The Rays are 22/1, the Orioles and Red Sox are 25/1, and the Phillies, White Sox and Royals are all 40/1.
A week ago the Braves were 15/1 while the Giants were 10/1 and the Cardinals are 18/1. Atlanta is off to a red-hot start, winning eight of its first nine games, including five of six at home and all three of their road games. The defending champs, meanwhile, are 7-3 after sweeping the Rockies in a recent home stand.
