NFL Week 15 Report: Falcons’ Julio Jones won’t play vs. Steelers

ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – It appears the Falcons won’t have their best player in uniform today when they host the Steelers at 1:00PM ET.

ESPN’s Vaughn McClure is reporting that Julio Jones will not play in Sunday’s game versus the Steelers because of a hip injury. He suffered the injury in Monday night’s loss to the Packers, a game in which he caught 11 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown. He hasn’t practiced all week and is reportedly dealing with a hip pointer.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Steelers are currently a 3-point road favorite versus the Falcons today while the over/under total is sitting at 55 points. Pittsburgh opened as a 1-point favorite but the line continues to move in this matchup with playoff implications.

With Jones out, Harry Douglas will start opposite Roddy White, who is also dealing with an ankle injury. If you like the Steelers today, now is the time to jump because the line won’t get any better as we approach kickoff. Jones isn’t a quarterback and thus, you won’t see major line movement for today’s game. But considering how important he is to the Falcons’ offense, he might be worth a half point in today’s game so strike now if you’re a Pittsburgh backer.
