FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – With nothing to play for in Week 17, Tom Brady is only expected to play a half against the Bills on Sunday.
The Patriots have already locked up homefield advantage throughout the playoffs by securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC. With that, the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin expects Brady to only play a half when the Pats host the Bills on Sunday.
Essentailly the Patriots will treat Week 17 as the fourth preseason game, where the starters only play a quarter or two before exiting the game in favor of backups. Tight end Rob Gronkowski is also expected to receive “little-to-no playing time” according to Volin.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are 4.5-point home favorites over the Bills while the over/under total is sitting at 44 points for tomorrow’s AFC East contest.
