The Patriots suffered injury to insult on Sunday night when Rob Gronkowski was injured in the team’s loss to the Broncos.
Gronk was forced from the game with a right knee injury after absorbing a low hit from Denver safety Darian Stewart in the second half. He was carted off the field and the initial fear was that he suffered a MCL injury.
But early on Monday, ESPN’s Dianna Marie Russini reported that Gronkowski’s knee injury is “not as bad as it looked.” Adam Schefter also reported that Gronk’s injury “doesn’t appear to be serious” and that the Patriots believe their tight end “is going to be okay.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots have opened as 13-point home favorites for this Sunday’s game against the Eagles. It’s unlikely that the line will dip below double-digits, even if Gronkowski doesn’t play. The Pats are coming off a loss and the Eagles are a mess, so expect New England to remain a heavy favorite.
