(The Spread) – According to several sources, the Philadelphia Eagles will have their starting quarterback under center this weekend.
Michael Vick is expected to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 writes Dennis Dillon of the Sporting News. Vick suffered what was thought to be a broken hand in last Sunday’s loss to the Giants, but as it turns out it was just a bad bruise.
Vick has been knocked out of the Eagles’ last two games. He suffered a concussion in Philadelphia’s 35-31 loss to the Falcons in Week 2 and then hurt his hand in the team’s 29-16 loss to the Giants in Week 3. Philadelphia is now 1-2 on the season and hosts a San Francisco team this Sunday that has won two of its first three games under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Not many online sports books list odds for this game, but the Eagles did open as a 6-point favorite in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Assuming Vick doesn’t suffer any setbacks this week in practice, the line should hover right around that line. (It’s doubtful that the Eagles would be more than a 5 or 6-point favorite with how poorly they’ve looked the past two weeks.)
According to latest NFL trends, the favorite is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams but the road squad is 5-2 ATS in the last seven overall meetings. That said, the Niners are 0-5 against the number in their last five games against the Eagles.
