Trends favor Titans to cover spread vs. Steelers on Monday Night Football

NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – Even though the public is all over the visiting Steelers tonight, the trends actually favor the home dog Titans on “Monday Night Football.”

View NFL Week 12 Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Titans are 7-point home underdogs versus the Steelers while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46 points. Tennessee opened as a 5-point underdog but after the line bounced between 6 and 6.5 for most of the week, it looks like the number has settled in at 7.

As previously, mentioned, the trends favor the dog in tonight’s matchup. The underdog is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams while the Steelers are just 3-7 against the number in their last 10 trips to Tennessee.

The Titans are also 4-0 against the spread in their last four Monday night games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games after accumulating less than 150 yards passing in their previous game. They’re 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game, too.

On the other side, the Steelers are just 2-6-3 against the spread in their last 11 games in Week 11 and 6-20-1 ATS in their last 27 road games versus a team with a losing home record. Thus, despite 87% of public money being on the Steelers tonight, the play might be the Titans. There’s always some value on the home underdog in a primetime situation.
