Will Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray play in Week 16?

DALLAS, TX (The Spread) – Despite needing surgery to repair a broken bone in his hand, Cowboys’ running back DeMarco Murray still has a chance to play in Week 16.

View Updated NFL Odds

Murray is dealing with a broken fourth metacarpal in his left hand, which is his non-ball carrying hand. Cowboys VP Stephen Jones noted on Sirius XM Radio on Monday that it would be an “uphill battle” for Murray to play on Sunday versus the Colts but the situation took a turn for the better on Tuesday morning.

According to DallasCowboys.com’s Bryan Broaddus, the “early thinking” is that Murray will play on Sunday. If he doesn’t suit up, Joseph Randle is the favorite to start against the Colts in a pivotal game for the Cowboys as they inch closer to winning the NFC East and securing better positioning in the NFC playoff picture.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, currently list the Cowboys as 3-point home favorites over the Colts for Sunday’s game. Even if Murray doesn’t play, there shouldn’t be a dramatic shift in the odds. Generally speaking, only quarterbacks move the line significantly from day-to-day.
