According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Royals are -138 money line favorites over the visiting Giants, who are +127 money line underdogs for tonight’s pivotal matchup. The total is currently sitting at 7 runs.

If you’re a Royals backer, you have to love what the recent history says about Game 7s of the World Series. That’s because the visiting team has not won a Game 7 of the World Series in 35 years, or not since 1979 when the Pirates won Game 7 in Baltimore over the Orioles. Since that point, nine straight visiting teams have gone into home stadiums and lost each time.

The trends favor Kansas City tonight as well. The Giants are just 3-8 in their last 11 games versus the Royals and 1-7 in their last eight road games versus Kansas City. San Francisco is also 1-4 in Tim Hudson’s last five road starts, 0-5 in his last five interleague starts and 1-7 in his last eight starts with four days of rest.

On the other side, the Royals are 5-0 in Jeremy Guthrie’s last five starts, 4-0 in his last four home starts and 5-0 in his last five interleague starts. The Royals are also 7-1 in their last eight home games, 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite and 6-1 in their last seven playoff home games.
