Smooth Air Odds
One of the long shots to win the 2008 Breeders’ Cup is Smooth Air, which takes place this Saturday October 25.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have established Smooth Air’s odds at 50/1.

Smooth Air does have Grade 2 wins at Hutcheson and the Ohio Derby, and also finished second in the Florida Derby, which is a Grade 1 race. And the only thoroughbred that finished ahead of Smooth Air was former Triple Crown contender Big Brown.
So far, it seems that Smooth Air is enjoying his time in Santa Anita. “He absolutely loves it,” said rider Sue Milne.
Smooth Air has proven to be a consistent racer and offers some value at 50/1, although be aware of course that he’s the thoroughbred with the longest odds to win the 2008 Breeders’ Cup. Although he did turn some heads with his finish place second at the Florida Derby this year, Smooth Air was really no match for Grade 1 racer Big Brown. Still, if the thrill of the long shot entices you, this is your horse.
