According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Gators are 2-point favorites over the Tigers while the over/under is currently sitting at 46 points. Florida actually opened as a 1-point home underdog but the line has flipped and now the Gators are favored, while the total opened at 46.5 and has been bet down.
This game was shrouded in controversy earlier this week when freshman quarterback Treon Harris, who sparked the Gators’ win over Tennessee last week, was suspended after he was accused to sexual assault. But after the alleged victim withdrew her complaint on Harris, the quarterback was reinstated onto the football team. He won’t play today, however, as Jeff Driskel will start for Florida. It’ll be interesting to see where his confidence is when tonight’s game gets under way.
Despite the issues surrounding Florida, the trends still favor the Gators in this matchup. The Tigers are 1-5 against the spread in their last six conference games and 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five road games. They’re also just 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game, 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games following an ATS loss and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record.
