SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – The Seattle Seahawks look to fend off the surging Dallas Cowboys when the two meet on Sunday at 4:25PM ET on FOX.
Dallas is 4-1 overall, 2-0 on the road and 3-2 against the spread. Seattle is 3-1 overall, 2-0 at home and 3-1 against the spread. The home team has won six straight in this series, but the Cowboys have covered the spread in five of their last seven against Seattle.
Trends show that the Seahawks are 20-6 against the spread in their last 26 conference games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record. Dallas is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games in October.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Seattle is the clear favorite at home, as the Seahawks are getting odds of -8 points against Dallas. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46.5 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Seattle favored by 9.5 points, but the spread has quickly fallen to 8 points. The over/under total opened at 47.5 points and slowly worked down to 46.5.
Seattle is coming off a 27-17 win at Washington last week. The Seahawks have won two straight and come into this game with the top rushing offense (167.3 ypg) and the top rushing defense (62.3 ypg). Marshawn Lynch has rushed for 306 yards and three touchdowns while Russell Wilson has rushed for 209 yards and passed for 852 yards with eight touchdowns. The defense is being led by Bobby Wagner, who has 43 tackles with one sack and four tackles for loss.
Dallas is coming off a 20-17 overtime win over Houston. The Cowboys have now won four straight entering this game and they come into the contest with the second-ranked rushing attack in the NFL (160.0 ypg). The Dallas defense hasn’t been too stellar, allowing 369.8 yards per game. DeMarco Murray is leading the NFL in rushing, as he has 670 yards and five touchdowns. He, however, also has lost three fumbles. Tony Romo has thrown for 1,260 yards and nine touchdowns as well while Barry Church is leading the defense with 28 tackles and one interception.
In terms of Injuries, Seattle cornerback Tharold Simon (knee) and running back Christine Michael (hamstring) are both questionable for this game. Dallas linebacker Rolando McClain (groin) and linebacker Bruce Carter (quad) are both questionable.
