Rams vs. Eagles Free Pick
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – After blowing a big lead on the road last week in San Francisco, will the Eagles bounce back when they host the Rams today at 1:00PM ET?
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Eagles are 6.5-point home favorites over the visiting Rams while the over/under total for today’s game is currently sitting at 47.5 points.
LINE MOVEMENT: The Rams opened as 8.5-point road underdogs but the line has dropped all the way down to 6.5 despite the fact that 72% of the betting public currently sides with the Eagles. The total, meanwhile, opened at 48.5 and has been bet down to 47.5 at most Vegas and online sports books.
SEASON RECORDS: The Rams are 1-2 straight up and 1-2 against the spread after failing to cover as a 1.5-point home underdog versus the Cowboys two weeks ago before their bye. The Eagles are 3-1 straight up and 2-2 against the spread, while the over has hit in three of their first four games. The under, meanwhile, is 2-1 in the Rams’ first three games.
NFL FREE PICK: Take Philadelphia. According to latest NFL trends, the Rams are 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games versus the Eagles and 0-5 ATS in their last five games in Philadelphia. They’re also just 2-9 against the number in their last 11 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game and 17-37 ATS in their last 54 road games versus a team with a winning home record. On the other side, the Eagles are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in Week 5 and despite their issues offensively a week ago I expect them to bounce back this week. Lane Johnson returns from his suspension and should help bolster an offensive line that has been brutal. The Rams offer a great opportunity for Shady McCoy and the Philly running game to get back on track because those far, Gregg Williams’ run defense has been porous. And as well as Austin Davis has played in his last two games, he’s due for a clunker.
2014 NFL WEEK 5 FREE PICK: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -6.5
