Alabama favored to win national title heading into Championship Week

Alabama remains favored to win CFB title

They’re not the No. 1 seed in the current college football playoff rankings but the Alabama Crimson Tide are favored to win this year’s national title.

Oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu currently list Alabama as an 11/10 favorite to win the 2016 college football championship game. Oklahoma, and not Clemson, has the next best odds to win at 5/2, while the Tigers are 6/1 and Michigan State is 8/1.

Iowa, which is currently ranked ahead of Michigan State in the college football playoff rankings, is 18/1 to win this year’s national championship, as is Ohio State. The Hawkeyes will play the Spartans in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night while the Buckeyes will sit and wait to see if either Alabama and/or Clemson lose in their respective title games. If the Tide and Tigers both fall, there’s a chance the Buckeyes could sneak into the top 4 despite not winning their conference this year.

North Carolina, which plays Clemson in Saturday’s ACC title game, is currently 22/1 to win this year’s college football championship, while Stanford is a 45/1 long shot. The Cardinal has two losses but a win over USC in the Pac-12 title game, coupled with either an Alabama and/or Clemson lose could catapult them into the top 4.
