DETROIT (AP) – Buffalo Bills cornerback Ron Brooks has been placed on a spinal stabilization board carted off the field after a frightening collision during a punt return against the Detroit Lions.
Brooks waved with his left hand as he was driven off the field.
He was hurt midway through the first quarter when colliding with Detroit’s Jerome Couplin. Couplin was attempting to block another Bills player and stumbled, hitting Brooks low. Brooks went flying into the air, spun upside down and landed directly on his head.
The game was delayed for about 10 minutes while trainers for both teams attended to Brooks at the Lions 40.
The Bills had no immediate update on Brooks’ injury.
