SAN DIEGO (AP) – Chargers coach Mike McCoy says center Doug Legursky will be placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, the second center lost for the season in the first five games.
Legursky was hurt during the second half of the Chargers’ 31-0 win against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Rookie Chris Watt, a backup guard, took over at center.
The Chargers lost veteran center Nick Hardwick to a neck stinger in a season-opening loss at Arizona.
McCoy won’t say who’s expected to start at center when the Chargers visit Oakland on Sunday.
Rich Ohrnberger, who replaced Hardwick, has missed the last two games with a back injury.
