NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Former Vanderbilt University football coach James Franklin has testified in a hearing that he did not see a video of an alleged rape involving four of his players.
The testimony came during a hearing over various motions in the case against two of the former players, Brandon Vandenburg and Corey Batey. Their trial is set for Nov. 3.
All four ex-players have pleaded not guilty and are free on bond.
Franklin now is head coach at Penn State. He says he told his players he had seen the video because he was angry, but he testified via Skye on Wednesday that he was only told about it.
Franklin says he advised his players to tell the truth about what happened because they were going to be dealing with it for the rest of their lives.
