FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – The New York Jets could be without starting cornerback Dee Milliner and left guard Brian Winters for the rest of the season.
Coach Rex Ryan says Monday that Milliner’s Achilles tendon injury and Winters’ left knee injury appear ”significant.” Ryan adds the team is awaiting results from MRI exams and other tests, but ”it doesn’t look good.”
Milliner, the team’s 2013 first-round pick, was hurt about two minutes into the Jets’ 31-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. He was playing special teams on Brandon McManus’ 37-yard field goal when he crumpled to the turf. Milliner was seen leaving the stadium on a cart after the game, crutches at his side.
Winters suffered the knee injury late in the third quarter.
