Notre Dame

A promising start to the 2023 season came to a halt for Notre Dame when Ohio State came to town and edged out a victory. They finished the season 10-3 and won the Sun Bowl. Head coach Marcus Freeman enters his 4th season and has brought in former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard to lead his offense. He will be throwing to returning receivers Jordan Faison and Jaden Greathouse who combined for 587 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns last season. Notre Dame has also acquired Beaux Collins as well as Kris Mitchell, who is coming off a 1000+ yard season with FIU. Audric Estime has gone pro and Jeremiyah Love will take over as the lead back. The Notre Dame offensive line is young. Very young. True freshman Anthonie Knapp will get the start at left tackle. Next to him will be redshirt freshman Sam Pendleton.

Texas A&M Aggies

After a brief stint as head coach with the Duke Blue Devils, Mike Elko is back in Aggieland and will be in the captains seat this time around. He takes over a team that went 7-6 last season and lost in the Texas Bowl. Connor Weigman will get the start at quarterback. He was injured early on last season but hopes to bounce back strongly. Texas A&M returns their top two running backs in Amari Daniels and Le’Veon Moss who combined for over 1000 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing last season. Noah Thomas and Jahdae Walker will step up as the teams top two receivers along with transfer Cyrus Allen. Elko was previously the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M and that is the side of the ball where he shines. He will have the luxury of two transfers in Nic Scourton who had 9.5 sacks and Cashius Howell who had 10 sacks last season to lead his defensive line.

The total has gone OVER in Notre Dame’s last 6 games

Notre Dame is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games

Texas A&M is 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 games

The total has gone OVER in 2 of Texas A&M’s last 6 games at home

Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M Betting Prediction

I am all aboard the Texas A&M train on this one. In case you didn’t catch on, this will be a battle between former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard and former Duke head coach Mike Elko. Elko is a defensive minded head coach that has the benefit of knowing everything about the now Fighting Irish starting quarterback. He knows what Riley Leonard does well, what he does poorly, and what gets him rattled. Elko will also have two hungry transfers on the defensive line going against a very young offensive line for the Irish. On top of all that, this is a home game for Texas A&M. Last season the Aggies went 0-4 in away games, but 6-1 in home games.

Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M Prediction: Texas A&M -3
