Thursday Night Football Betting: Will the Colts rout the Texans?

Will tonight be another TNF blowout?

HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – The NFL’s Thursday night football has produced five straight blowouts to start the season. Will tonight’s matchup between the Colts and Texans be more of the same?

The 3-2 Houston Texans host the 3-2 Indianapolis Colts at NRG Stadium set to go at 8:25PM ET.  The question for bettors is will this be another ugly blowout, or will these teams keep it close?  Both of these teams have been good versus the spread on the season as they have both covered in four of their first five games.  It’s hard not to back quarterback Andrew Luck and the Colts in this spot.  The Colts have won three straight versus the Texans and I look for that trend to continue here.

These two teams will be battling it out for the lead in the AFC South on the big stage and that fits right into Luck’s wheelhouse.  The Texans rely on a strong defense and a running game lead by Arian Foster, while the Colts can put up points in a hurry on the offensive side of the ball lead Luck.

The Colts are 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games when listed as the favorite, while the Texans are 3-7 ATS in their last ten home games.  There’s one big stat that sticks out when looking at this game. The Colts are 20-4 SU in their last 24 games versus Houston.  The right play for bettors may be to take the Colts on the money line where available for a more conservative approach.  For those taking the spread, take the Colts this one may not be another blowout but Indy should take this one by at least a touchdown.
