UAB Blazers Game Notes
Blazers forward Yaxel Lendenborg notched a double-double in his team’s 66-56 win over North Texas on Saturday. The 6’9” 240-pound senior put up 23 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in 36 minutes. Lendenborg shot 8 of 15 from the field and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the victory.
UAB guard Ja’Borri McGhee also made an impact against the Mean Green on Saturday. In 34 minutes, the junior from McComb, MS recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a made three-pointer. McGhee is fourth on the team in scoring with 11.0 points per game this season.
Memphis Tigers Game Notes
Tigers guard Tyrese Hunter is questionable for Sunday’s game due to a foot injury. Hunter left the team’s game on Saturday early in the second half. He later emerged from the locker room with a walking boot on his left foot. Hunter is one of Memphis’s better players and is averaging 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game this season.
If he’s unable to play on Sunday, the Tigers will likely turn to senior guard PJ Carter or sophomore guard Baraka Okojie to start in his place.
Memphis guard Dante Harris will miss Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. He’s averaging 11.7 minutes per game in 16 appearances this year.
UAB vs. Memphis CBB Betting Trends

Memphis is 9-16 ATS as a favorite this season.
UAB vs. Memphis CBB Prediction:
I like this spot for UAB. The Blazers likely need to win on Sunday to make the NCAA Tournament. They will face a Memphis team that will likely be without their second-best player, Tyrese Hunter, for this contest. Hunter is an experienced senior who helps run the offense and prevents teams from simply loading up to stop Tigers star guard PJ Haggerty. Without Hunter, UAB’s chances to win and/or cover are much greater.
A few numbers for the Blazers should bolster their case to cover this contest. UAB is 13-7 ATS in conference games and 12-3 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest this season. What’s more, the Blazers are 3-2 ATS in neutral-site games this season and 5-0 ATS in conference tournament games since the start of last season. I think UAB either wins outright or comes very close to doing so. The pick is UAB +4.5 points over Memphis at Bovada.lv.
