McIlroy vs. Stricker Odds
JOHNS CREEK, GA (TheSpread) – Rory McIlroy may be the favorite to win the 2011 PGA Championship, but oddsmakers have him as an underdog to Steve Stricker in a matchup.

According to oddsmakers, Stricker has odds of -125 to finish ahead of McIlroy in the tournament, while McIlroy has a money line of -105 in the matchup.
McIlroy is fourth in the world rankings and having a strong 2011 season. He won the U.S. Open and has eight top 10’s on the year. McIlroy has placed 25th or better in the last five majors he has competed in. He has also finished third in his only two PGA Championship appearances.
Stricker sits fifth in the world rankings. He is having a steady year as well. He has two victories and five top 10’s on the season. Stricker has yet to win a major championship in his career, but he has been getting close over the years. He has not finished in the top 10 of a major since the 2009 Masters. At the PGA Championship, Stricker has two top 10’s in 13 appearances. His best finish came in 1998, where he took second. In the 2001 PGA Championship that was played at the same course as this year’s, Stricker placed 66th.
The 2011 PGA Championship is played at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia and will start on Thursday, Aug. 11 and finish on Sunday, Aug. 14.
