Bradley wins PGA in playoff
ATLANTA, GA (TheSpread) – Keegan Bradley made the most of his first major golf tournament, as he won the 2011 PGA Championship in a playoff over Jason Dufner.
Bradley had an improbable victory even late into Sunday as he found himself down five shots to Dufner following a triple bogey on hole No. 15 after chipping a shot into the water.
Dufner began to fall apart down the stretch, bogeying three of the next four holes while Bradley hit birdies on 17 and 18 to force the playoff, with both golfers at -8 overall. From there, Bradley continued his strong play and Dufner continued to struggle. Bradley won the playoff by one shot.
According to oddsmakers Bradley has 125/1 odds to win the PGA Championship coming into the week, meaning a $100 wager on him will pay out an additional $12,500.
Dufner entered the day one shot ahead of Bradley for the lead, as he sat at -7 and Bradley was at -6. Dufner was tied with Brendan Steele, who ended up shooting a 7-over 77 on Sunday to finish tied for 19th place at Even for the tournament.
