FedEx Cup Playoff Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The FedEx Cup Playoffs are set to get started this week on the PGA Tour. Which golfer will walk away with the top prize following the next four tournaments?
According to oddsmakers from GTBets, Jordan Spieth is the clear favorite to win the FedEx Cup, as he has odds of +150 to win. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (+650) and Rory McIlroy (+800). The FedEx Cup starts this week with The Barclays, which takes the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup point standings. The top 100 after that advance to the Deutsche Bank Championship. Then the top 70 compete in the BMW Championship and the final 30 will play in the Tour Championship. The points leader after that event wins the FedEx Cup.
Spieth currently has a large lead in the standings entering the playoffs. He is at 4,169 points, with Day in second at 2,459. Spieth is currently No. 1 in the world rankings and he has four wins in 2015 with two major championships. Spieth has never won a FedEx Cup Playoff event.
Day is second in the FedEx Cup standings and is currently third in the world rankings following his win in the PGA Championship. Day has three wins in 2015 but he also has yet to win a FedEx Cup playoff event.
McIlroy is ninth in the point standings, 2,602 points behind Spieth for first place. McIlroy is second in the world rankings and has two victories on the year despite playing in just nine PGA events. McIlroy has won two FedEx Cup playoff events in his career, both of which came in 2012.
