Updated Open Championship Odds
After two rounds of The Open Championship, one of golf’s biggest stars finds himself alone in first place.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Jordan Spieth now stands alone with +125 odds to win the third major of 2017 as the leader by two shots. Other short odds to win right now are Rory McIlroy (+700), Matt Kuchar (+700) and Brooks Koepka (+800). The Open Championship continues Saturday and Sunday from Royal Birkdale in Southport, England.
Spieth really had a nice day on Friday, as he managed to a shoot a 1-under 69 through rainy and windy conditions to get to -6 for the tournament. He leads the field by two shots thanks to his 5-under 65 in the first round. Spieth is looking to win his first Open Championship.
McIlroy shot a 71 on Thursday, but rallied early on Friday to post a 2-under 68 and get to -1 for the tournament. McIlroy is looking to win his second Open Championship. His first win came in 2014.
Kuchar also shot a 65 on Thursday and then limited the damage on Friday by shooting just a 1-over, 71. He is alone in second right now. Kuchar is looking to claim his first major championship. His best finish in this tournament was ninth back in 2012.
Koepka is another player that had a 65 on Thursday, but he struggled a little bit on Friday with the conditions and shot a 2-over, 72. Koepka is -3 for the tournament. Koepka is seeking to win his second consecutive major after winning the U.S. Open weeks ago. His best previous Open Championship finish was 10th in 2015.
