3M Open Predictions
The PGA Tour heads to the Twin Cities this weekend for the 3M Open. Here’s some golfers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Brooks Koepka is favored to win this week, as he has 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (10/1), Hideki Matsuyama (11/1) and Bryson DeChambeau (14/1). The 2019 3M Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
1002 Hideki Matsuyama 11/1
This is a first-year event, similar to last week, so it’s hard to really know which golfers would trend toward playing well at this course. However, Matsuyama was in that position last week in Detroit and finished 13th. He has played consistently well this year, reaching the top 10 of four events while not missing the cut in all 15 events he has played in this year. In a field that is lacking a lot of a star power, I like Matsuyama to really play well and contend for his first win since 2017.
1009 Rory Sabbatini 33/1
Sabbatini was a 50/1 dark horse pick for us last week and he finished third in Detroit. He has placed in the top 10 in three of his last five and four of his last six tournaments this year. He has really done a good job this year of maximizing his play on this lower-level tournaments to move up the world rankings and FedEx Cup list. I like him again this week. While his odds aren’t as long this week, I think his consistent play on these lower-level events will eventually lead to a win. He’s been knocking on the door for months.
1016 Adam Hadwin 50/1
Hadwin is a dark horse option I just have a hunch on this week. A Canadian, Hadwin has tended to play a little better in the north and his home country. Minnesota is hosting for the first time and this should make Hadwin feel somewhat at home. He finished sixth in the Canadian open just a few weeks back and I think he can do more of the same this weekend. Hadwin has the ability to win and he can over a really nice payout if he comes through.
