Updated PGA Championship Odds
The first round of the PGA Championship is in the books and there are a pair of new favorites entering the second round.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler are now co-favorites to win the tournament, as each is listed with 6/1 odds. Other short odds are Hideki Matsuyama (9/1) and Rory McIlroy (9/1). The PGA Championship continues Friday-Sunday from Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Koepka posted a 3-under 68 on Thursday to find himself 1 shot out of the lead. Currently Thorbjorn Olesen and Kevin Kisner hold the lead at -4 overall. Kisner now has 16/1 odds while Olesen has 28/1 odds. Koepka won the U.S. Open earlier this year for his first major championship.
Fowler finds himself tied for eighth after the first round. He posted a 2-under, 69 on Thursday. Fowler is still seeking his first major championship.
Matsuyama posted a 1-under, 70 on Thursday to sit at tied for 15th. He is coming off a big win in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and seeking his first major of his career.
McIlroy was the pre-tournament favorite, but shot a 1-over 72 on Thursday to finish tied for 34th after round one. McIlroy is a two-time former PGA Championship winner and a two-time winner at Quail Hollow.
