Fowler wins Deutsche Bank
Rickie Fowler picked up one of his biggest wins of his career, winning the Deutsche Bank Championship by one shot on Monday.
Fowler shot a 3-under 68 on Monday to finish the tournament at -15 overall, which was enough to edge Henrik Stenson. Stenson shot a 70 on Monday, but the big story from him was a double bogey on the par-3, 16th hole. That turned around the tournament for both Stenson and Fowler.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Fowler had 35/1 odds to win this tournament coming into the week, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $3,500.
Charley Hoffman came in third on his own after shooting a 67 on Monday to finish at -11 for the tournament. Five golfers earned a tie for fourth at -8 for the tournament. Included in that group was Jim Furyk and Patrick Reed. Fowler now moves to third in the FedEx Cup rankings with the win. He is trailing both Jason Day and Jordan Spieth in points.
