Sony Open Predictions
The 2020 PGA Tour continues its action out West this weekend, as golfers compete in the Sony Open in Hawaii. Here’s three golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Justin Thomas is the favorite this week with 11/2 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Patrick Reed (12/1), Webb Simpson (12/1) and Hideki Matsuyama (14/1). The 2020 Sony Open in Hawaii takes place Thursday-Sunday from Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Bet on the Sony Open in Hawaii
1000 Justin Thomas 11/2
Thomas is the clear favorite this week, but it is for good reason. Thomas is the 2017 champion of this event while setting the course record at 27-under-par. He also comes in with a lot of momentum after winning the Sentry Tournament of Champions last weekend. Thomas has won three of his last seven tournaments while placing in the top 10 in all but one. He also has finished in the top 20 in 11 straight events. Thomas is playing as well as he has in a few years and I expect his hot streak to continue this weekend.
1001 Patrick Reed
Reed finished runner-up to Thomas last week and was the focus of the crowd in the process. Reed received a lot of jeers and torment, but I think that will only motivate him to bounce back this week. He has been playing pretty well as of late, finishing in the top 3 in his last two tournaments and in the top 10 in four of his last five. He also has finished in the top 20 in seven of his last eight events. Reed was 13th in this even last year as well, so I look for him to be among the top contenders this weekend.
1011 Brandt Snedeker 40/1
Snedeker is a play I like with a little longer odds. He is someone that has played well in this event before, finishing runner-up in 2016. This tournament isn’t too deep with the PGA’s best, so it opens the door for some of the veteran players to be in the mix. Snedeker is definitely in that mix. He has made the cut in eight straight tournaments, finishing in the top 25 in four of his last six tournaments as well. Snedeker has been consistent at finding his way to a victory and I think he could grab the win this weekend and earn you a nice payout.
