The Honda Classic Predictions
The PGA Tour makes its move to Florida this weekend for the annual Honda Classic. Here’s three golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Tommy Fleetwood is the favorite this weekend, as he has 11/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Brooks Koepka (12/1) and Rickie Fowler (14/1). The 2020 Honda Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
1002 Rickie Fowler 14/1
Fowler has been on a slide for about a year now, but The Honda Classic has been a good event for him. Along with winning the title in 2017, he finished second a year ago, losing by just one stroke. Fowler still started 2020 with a pair of top-10 finishes, so I think he can snap out of this brief funk he is in this weekend. He won’t be lacking in confidence or comfortability here.
1003 Justin Rose 22/1
You aren’t going to get Justin Rose with these odds very often. Rose certainly hasn’t looked good in his last two events, but he’s far too talented for that to continue. Rose has consistently been top 10 in the world rankings for years. Now sitting at 12th, I expect him to breakout soon. This isn’t a tournament we have seen Rose at in recent years, but I think he should be a top contender is somewhat of a lackluster field. Like I said, you won’t get him at 22/1 often, so I think he brings great value.
1007 Daniel Berger 28/1
Speaking of breakout performances, Berger seems to be working his way back right now. Once a top-30 player in the world, Berger plummeted to 154 last year after missing six cuts and getting just one top 10 in 2019. However, 2020 is off to a solid start. He has made all four cuts this year and has finished in the top 10 in his last two events. He was ninth in the Phoenix Open and fifth in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Berger was runner-up in this event in 2015 and I look for him to dial up another strong outing this weekend and possibly provide you with a big payout.
