Houston Open Predictions
A competitive field is set to tee off in the Houston Open on Thursday morning. Here’s three golfers we think will contend for the win this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers at YouWager, Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler are the favorites to win, as each has 10/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Henrik Stenson, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson, who each have 12/1 odds. The Houston Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
Bet on Golf Odds for Thursday, March 29, 2018
65005 Phil Mickelson 12/1
Mickelson is a former winner of this tournament and is playing as well as he has in years. In seven tournaments this year, Mickelson has one win and four top-10 finishes. He has finished in the top 6 in four of his last five events as well. Mickelson tends to do well at courses he has won at and this is one of those cases. Look for him to be near the top of the leaderboard this weekend.
65004 Henrik Stenson 12/1
Stenson has performed well in this tournament in the past, finishing second in 2016 and 2013. The Swedish golfer hasn’t been on a tremendous hot streak lately, but is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational a few weeks ago. He has finished in the top 10 in three of his last five events and I like him to have another strong run at this course this weekend.
65010 Matt Kuchar 33/1
Kuchar has nice value this weekend with 33/1 odds. He is coming off a top-10 finish in last week’s Match Play Championship, which was his second top-10 finish of the year. Kuchar has yet to miss a cut in seven tournaments this year and he has had success in this tournament before. He placed second in 2014 and I think he is someone that can contend for the win this weekend. Kuchar hasn’t gotten a victory since 2015, but we have already seen guys end multi-year droughts this year. Kuchar is shaping up to be next.
