According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cubs are -125 money line favorites to knock off the Cardinals, who have odds of +115 to pull off the upset. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 8 runs with John Lackey set to oppose Jason Hammel in the pitching matchup.
The Cardinals are 4-0 in Lackey’s last four games versus the Cubs, who are 1-4 in Hammel’s last five starts versus St. Louis. The Cardinals are also 8-2 in Lackey’s last 10 starts versus a team with a winning record and 5-1 in his last six starts after scoring five runs or more in their previous game so even though Lackey is coming off three days of rest, look for St. Louis to force a Game 5.
