Miami vs. N.C. State Prediction

Will N.C. State pull off the upset today at 12:30PM ET when it hosts Miami in ACC play?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hurricanes are 2.5-point road favorites versus the Wolfpack after being a 3-point favorite throughout the week. As for the total, the number opened at 50 but has been bet up slightly to 50.5 at the majority of sports books.

The Hurricanes are coming off their second win in a row last Saturday after a rough four-game losing skid. Their 34-14 win at Virginia allowed Miami to qualify for a bowl game in head coach Mark Richt’s first season. After failing to cover the spread in all four games during their losing streak, the Canes are also 2-0 at the betting window over their last two weeks as well.

The Wolfpack started the season 4-1 before dropping games to Clemson, Louisville, Boston College and Florida State. They did rebound last week with a 35-20 victory at Syracuse and will play their final home game of the season today in search of a bowl-qualifying victory. Next week N.C. State will travel to rival North Carolina.

OUR PREDICTION: The Wolfpack have been a great play at home, covering in five of their last six games at Carter Finley Stadium. They’re also a perfect 6-0 against the spread in their last six games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and have cashed in six of their last eight games overall. N.C. State needs to win one more game to become bowl eligible and with this being Senior Day in Raleigh, look for the Wolfpack to potentially pull off the small upset at home.
