Rockies vs. Padres Predictions
With the total set at only 7.5, will the over hit tonight when NL West rivals the Rockies and Padres meet at 10:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Padres are -125 money line favorites versus the Rockies, who own odds of +115 to pull off the upset. With Jonathan Gray set to face James Shields in the pitching matchup, the over/under sits at 7.5 runs for tonight’s game.
Bet Tonight’s Rockies vs. Padres Game
Gray lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his last outing, allowing hits to nine of the 21 batters he faced and surrendering six runs on the night. He now owns a 11.42 ERA in two starts since coming off the disabled list and if he doesn’t pitch well tonight, Gray could find himself on the outside looking in when it comes to Colorado’s starting rotation.
Shields, meanwhile, was excellent in his last start but was the hard-luck loser in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Giants last Tuesday. He allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings of work but was out-dueled by Johnny Cueto, who pitched a complete game shutout. Shields is 0-4 but he owns a 3.55 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and a 21/13 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 33 innings this season.
