Bet Tonight’s Stars vs. Oilers Game
STARS KEY TRENDS: Losers of six of their last eight games, the Stars are scuffling. They’re just 1-5 in their last six road games, are 1-11 in their last 12 games when playing the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and are 0-9 in their last nine games after allowing two goals or less in their previous contest. They’re also winless at 0-5 in their last five games versus a team with a winning record and are 0-4 in their last four games coming off a win.
OILERS KEY TRENDS: The Oilers have been solid at home, winning five of their last seven games in Edmonton, but have struggled in other situations. For example, they’re 15-40 in their last 55 games when playing opponents from the Central Division, are 28-77 in their last 105 games versus Western Conference foes, and are 6-23 in their last 29 home games following a road trip of seven or more days.

OUR PREDICTION: Lay the wood. The Oilers are coming off a five-game road trip and will be re-energized by playing at home for the first time since October 30. They’ve also played well of late, beating the Islanders in New York 4-3 in a shootout and the Red Wings in Detroit 2-1 before falling to the Penguins 4-3 in Pittsburgh. The Stars, meanwhile, are coming off a 4-2 win over lowly Calgary but were crushed 8-2 by the Jets in Winnipeg and have dropped three of four overall. The Oilers should light the lamp plenty in route to a puck-line victory.
